Ventilation therapy is often described as ‘mechanical ventilation’ since a ventilator takes over the duties normally performed by the patient’s own diaphragm muscle.
We offer homecare ventilation therapy for patients suffering from severe respiratory illnesses, spinal cord injuries, and neuromuscular disorders, for example. Linde Healthcare can support patients with a broad range of requirements, from regular home visits through multi-hour daily homecare right up to inpatient care at our REMEO Ventilation & Weaning Centers.
Ventilation therapy can be:
Non-invasive, using a mask that covers both the patient's mouth and nose.
Invasive, administered through a tracheotomy, a small surgical opening in the throat directly into the trachea.
With the right equipment and carefully managed and co-ordinated care, ventilated patients can find comfort medically, socially, and psychologically outside the hospital.
